Bonsai Watch

Probably the smallest present that I got this year is a Bonsai Tree. I should say, bonsai seed . . . it will take more than a year to grow it :) - stay tuned for more info ...  

it is christmas time, yet, again :)

Christmas should be the time of love and peace, however, our last couple of days were not without events.

I couldn't keep my promise from last year, which was to finish Christmas shopping in November :) so only had one day to buy presents for everybody. I had to do it good. Good and fast. As I was flying through the mall with bags in my hands realized that I could leave the stuff in my car and continue the hunting.

As soon as I stepped outside, recognized the well known mushroom-cloud, about 15 miles away from the shopping center, very VERY close to our neighbourhood.

"Did I forget to turn off the oven?" - ran through my head. But I did not bake anything on that morning. Shortly, after I put the bags in the car and headed back to the mall - "Calm as a Hindu cow" ;) 5 minutes later Alison called me and informed me that a Chemical Plant exploded on the other side of the bridge and they are evacuating the people in a 5 mile radius.

I, like a mad man, stormed out of the mall, texted mom that we are OK, pushed the metal to the pedal (or vica versa ;) and flew across the parking lot. I had a dog to save.

Long story short, fortunately the fire department was very successful and was able to put out the fire in a timely manner. We didn't have to leave the house. YAY!

new nikon, old piano

so many things happened in the past 2 moths, I don't even know where to start. first off, finally I got my new digital camera Nikon D70s so technically there is no limitation to my crazy ideas now ... the camera is awesome way too many buttons and settings. I'm reading the handbook like a magazine every day :)

I attended on HES' first art show (hosted at his house) please check out his work. His paintings definitely make your brain-gears turning.

By the way art: finally I uploaded my grandpa's video to uToob. Take a look at it as well :D


We got a piano. Stand-up-straight-piano or something like that. Long story short ... we got a piano ... YAY! I can play the moonlight sonata. the first 8 notes .... haha

Here is the first video (as far as I know!) from LEZ who dared to do something with Mr. Kodai's music ;) ( with a song called Gone). I know both of them for many years, they've been good friends of mine quite a while. In the first couple of seconds of the video I thought (just as was expected!) I'm gonna see a NIN type of clip. Well, surprisingly it's not the case. I really did enjoy it and I even showed it to Ali who quietly said: "It's different". Fortunately it IS different. Newly weds game

Yesterday was our first appearance on this very famous show. The only difference was that we played with our friends (mostly married) about 6 couples. Let me tell you folks WE DID RULE the whole game from the begining till the end. We knew everything: first date, first kiss, the most hated behaviours and clothing materials. That's what an hour in the immigration office with a straight faced officer does to a married couple. Oh, and by the way i love my mother in law but under the given circumstances she reminded me of a japanese rooster. Sorry ;)

Where did my Björk ticket go?

Well, if you couldn't figure it out by this picture . . . Hmmm i feel sorry for you. I know most of you (okay okay all of you) wont understand why, but it was worth every penny. It took me about 3hrs to put it together while me and my loyal servant (bubba) and my beautiful wi-fi were fighting against blood-thirsty insects and night time creatures.

Ali's ASL Website

Not much was happening around our house lately. We made a little garden in the back yard and put come red mulch(?) down. Looks pretty good. We created a website with Ali for her ASL (American Sign Language) Project. That's all for now . . .

dog poop and transformers ... etc

yesterday was our second anniversary with Alison. we picked a romantic cartoon-comedy (A Scanner Darkly in Hungarian: Egy Sotet Fenymasolo). it was a very interesting movie but if you want to see a breath-taking action just go and get a ticket for the Transformers. Since I'm writing about movies. I had to look up a preview which caught my attention and turned out to be the next big vampire movie in this coming December. I Am Legend.

everything else is the same, last week we went to alligator-wrestling ;) nobody died. pictures later.

Oh, yes. Almost forgot. Last night in my dream I was back in Hungary looking at a dried out dog poop. FYI the dried out dog poop in my country is white :)

... you don't need an enemy." - this was from a documentary (according to one of my co-workers!) I was so mad I had to look it up. It is true :) at least that's what THEY say (they means ... everybody else than hungarians ... ) however during my online "digging" I found a very cool website about huns around the world. change a flat tire with a shaved left knee

That was my agenda for today. First of all, why would you shave your left knee? my question is ... why wouldn't you? it is not a new fashion craziness in North-Florida nor in Milwaukee.

How it happened? I was boogie-boarding about 2 weekends ago and I accidentally hit my left knee on a tiny sandbar. It was not severe, just a little blood here and there. i was absolutely not worried about it until this weekend when I actually played table-tennis (ping-pong) for hours and once during a game I fell on the floor. My healing wound opened up and started to bleed real bad. We had to put a band aid on it. Still no pain, no problem 'till the moment my in-laws and my wife decided to torture me and wanted to take the band aid off my very, i repeat VERY hairy leg. Indescribable pain and rage against everybody ... after this experience I chose to shave a weird square form around my wound for the next band aids. it helped :)

flat tire. I was driving home today and I heard a strange hissing sound from outside of my car for a couple of seconds and bum-bum noise afterwards. my tire just blew out. it took me at least 3 hours to put the spare tire on it. i had fun, have to admit.

To fly into the future . . .

So we went up to wisconsin this weekend (actually we are still on the way back) to see ali's little sister's (courtney) graduation ceremony. It was ok we had fun i played ping-pong and bocce ball with my in-laws watched some movies and ate a lot. Right now we are in charlotte, north carolina which is an airport from the future. Neon lights a harley davidson store and couple of nascar cars and my special favorite a pianist playing the piano man in the middle of the hallway . . . I am looking for an R2-D2 like cleaning robot vacuuming the carpet around us while apologizing for the inconvenience . . .

TPC - tűzvész egyebek ...

TPC: nem egy újkeletű fertőző vírusról van szó, hanem egy dollármilliókat hozó játékról. pontosabban golf-ról. nekem ez új volt ;) az egész baromira hidegen hagyna (még akkor is, ha a kompúteremen szeretek golfozni!) de az esemény jelen pillanatban az éttermünktől kb. 1-2 mérföldre zajlik. ami tudjuk mit jelent. több száz ember minden nap, MINDEN órában minden MÁSODPERCBEN egyszerre. időnk is alig van kortyolni valamit (vagy ne adj 'sten levegőt venni) csoportostul áramlanak az éhes golfőrültek.

A felettünk lévő államból (Georgia) még mindig jön át a füst, sőt már itt is be-begyulladt egy két bozót. Félünk, hogy mi lesz ...

Nem egy Hazavato Buli

A rovid hatarido ellenere jottek emberek a spontan akciobol megrendezesre kerulo "Nem egy Hazavato Buli" - bulira ... persze nem ment minden siman, tobbek kozott megtanultuk hogyan nem lehet jo quawakavakamolit kesziteni kemeny avocadobol es hogy a sor az meg is csak hidegen jo :)

de mindezek ellenere szerencsere mindenki jol erezte magat, volt tancolas meg szemtojas es persze mindenkinek nezni kellett egy kis nacho libre -t is, szoval nekem is jutott a jobol :D

mindenkepp koszonjuk, aki ott volt, aki meg nem az ne csuggedjen mert lesz itten meg ne mulass ...

A legviccesebb fura. Gimli halott.

Vagy inkább a legfurább vicces. . . Még igazából nem sikerült eldöntenem nekem egyelőre tetszik. Bizonyos részeket többször is meg kellett néznem, hogy jól kiröhögjem magam. Az új Jack Black film-ről beszélek illetve elég tavalyi ez már, csak nekem új, mint egy jó csecsemőnek. Aki kedveli JB alkotásait annak mindneképp ajánlom, szerintem játéka viszi el az egész filmet. A hátán. Aki nem szereti JB-ket viszont tetszett neki a Napoleon Dynamite annak is ajánlom, de lehet, hogy nem fog tetszeni neki (ebbe a kategóriába tartozik kedves nejem is ;) ) Aki pedig se JB-ket nem szereti se az utóbb említett film nem jött be neki, az menjen macskafogót nézni vagy valami verekedős filmet :)

Egy másik nem idevágó hír, hogy másfél éves fogvatartás és kínzás után sajnos Gimli nevű halunk kimúlt és halála után a jó öreg "flush" szertartással távozott az élők sorából. De csüggedésre semmi ok, ma este beszereztünk egy másikat ami viccesen a Number 2 névre hallgat.

... és végül de nem utolsó sorban az évek óta dédelgetett és babusgatott honlapom újra izgalomba lendült, a régi külsővel ugyan, de teljesen új tartalommal. Ahogyan a mottóm is mondja ... "Minden ami WEB" - www.mehesz.net

Sasként Repülni

Az elmult ket hetben tobb kilometert (es merfoldet!) repultunk mint egy kiwi egy kacsacsoru emlos es egy repulohal egesz eleteben egyutt veve. Hazamentunk es visszajottunk. Az egesz olyan gyorsan tortent, hogy mindenre csak alomszeruen emlekszem.

Azt, hogy a boltokban az emberek (marmint az eladok) bunkon viselkednek az ember 1 nap utan megszokja. Meg persze azt is, hogy az otthon maradtak mindig tobbet tudnak a kulturarol az inteligenciarol meg ugy altalaban mindenrol mint azok, akik itt elnek.

Ezeken nem lepodtem meg, tulajdonkeppen kb. erre szamitottam. Amire viszont nem, hogy az eltelt 4 ev alatt amit NEM otthon toltottem, az utak szinvonala megvaltozott. Tobb van, es jobb minoseguek mint valaha, az autopalyakra meg a felesegem is annyit tudott mondani, hogy "ez tiszta amerika" ;)

Minden kb. ugyanannyiba kerul, kiveve a repteren, ahol kicsit eleresztettuk magunkat es 2 pakli kartyaert es ket kinaban gyartott budapest hutomagnesert annyit fizettunk mint amennyit a ket nappal korabban elkovetett "bavasarlo nap"-on tettunk osszesen, dehat igy van ez, ha az ember nyaralni megy...

Tobb mint 700 kep, Isten aldja a digitalis korszakot :) , amiket hamarosan majd fel is teszek a kepeink koze...

Sajnos a szombati ("baratok kozt") buli nem ugy sult el, ahogy azt a fejemben elkepzeltem, ezen biztosan valtoztatni fogunk legkozelebb. Mikor? Nem Tom.
